 LME Base Metals Seen Lower On China Data

LME base metals are likely to open lower as weaker-than-expected China data Tuesday and ongoing debt problems in Europe are likely to continue weighing on sentiment. “We suspect that we will continue to see a slow drift lower in most commodity markets, as the European situation will weigh on sentiment for a little while longer,” says INTL FCStone analyst Edward Meir. LME three-month copper ended 0.9% lower Tuesday at $7,490/, while aluminum closed at $1,912/ton, down 0.7%.
